Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
CodeCraft Academy is designed to be read, not tracked. This policy explains what little data we collect, why, and how you can control it. It applies to everyone in the EU/UK and everywhere else.
The short version
- We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name or email to read the site.
- We don’t show ads and we don’t sell personal data.
- We store minimal technical data (pages, feedback, broken-link reports) to improve the site.
Data we collect
Feedback you send us
The “Was this page helpful?” widget stores your rating, optional comment, the page URL, a truncated IP address and your user-agent. This helps us fix confusing lessons. It is never published.
Broken-link reports
When you hit a 404, we record the failed URL and referrer to find and fix broken links. The report includes an IP address, heavily rate-limited to prevent abuse.
Hosting logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, requested URL) for security and performance. These are retained briefly and not sold.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small number of storage items, all of which can be cleared at any time in your browser:
- Theme preference (localStorage) — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Cookie consent (localStorage) — remembers your consent choice so we don’t ask twice.
No advertising, analytics or social-tracking cookies are set by this site. Where we later add privacy-respecting analytics, we will update this page and ask for consent first.
Legal basis (GDPR/UK GDPR)
We process feedback and broken-link data on the basis of legitimate interest — improving the accuracy and reliability of our content. We process any personal data in emails you send us on the basis of consent and contract (responding to your message).
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict processing. Since we hold very little data and most of it is anonymous, this is usually quick. Contact us using the details on our contact page and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Third parties
We do not share personal data with third parties for their own purposes. Infrastructure providers (hosting, database) process data strictly on our behalf under contract.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
